You may have heard about the letter signed by church leaders of various Christian Churches opposing the Ban on conversion therapy which the government are consulting on. This has caused great upset within and outside of the church.
In 2017 the governing body of the Church of England past a motion calling for the government to ban the practise of conversion therapy, highlighting that it is unethical and potentially harmful and calling for the church to be sensitive, to and to listen to contemporary expressions of gender identity. We are all made in the image of God and conversion therapy is not acceptable and should be banned.
