Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray on the 9 days between Ascension Day and Pentecost, for more people to come to know Jesus. What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer. God has grown this dream of a possibility into a movement. Christians in more than 172 countries now take part.
Here at St Nicholas with St Barnabas we want to be a part of this international wave of prayer.
We ask you to:
– Think of 5 people who you would like to pray for
Look out for The Prayer Journals, pray for 5 cards and pray for 5 cords which will be at the back of both St Nicholas and St Barnabas churches. Please take them and prayerfully think about the 5 people you will promise to pray for.
At the service on Ascension Day, May 9th the Thy Kingdom Come prayer journal will be introduced and there will be copies for you to take home to use for the next 10 days. On each of these days there will also be the opportunity for you to join with others to pray together at 4.00pm in the Lady Chapel of St Nicholas Church.
