Cherishing Churchyards, Churches Count on Nature & Big Green Week

From 7th to 15th June, there are three national ‘green’ events taking place: Cherishing Churchyards, Churches Count on Nature, and Big Green Week.

We’ve planned several activities to take place outside St Nicholas Church. Do come along and help/take part if you are available. We are particularly looking for people to help with the Nature Count on 12th June. (Contact Victoria, Eco Church Team, for further info.)

7th June, 9.30am A joint work party with Friends of Abbey Fields for a carefully managed tidy-up in part of the churchyard

12th June, 10am Nature Count in the churchyard – results are recorded on Caring for God’s Acre’s national register

15th June, from 12.30 At the Open Garden teas in the Parochial Hall, visitors are invited to play ‘Guess the herb’ – a quick and sensory game. An ‘Interesting things to see in our churchyard’ sheet (for self-guided walks) will also be available.
