Comment:  I have many memories of St Nicholas school and church. I was confirmed by Bishop Bardsley in 1961 and a member of the ladies church choir (remember lots of concerts put on in Parochial Hall) in the middle 1960s. I also attended St Barnabas church when Rev Theibald was there and remember making a scrapbook about the consecration of the then new Coventry Cathedral in Sunday School. I enjoyed my time at both churches and it's lovely to see your website. I left Warwickshire in 1978 for Scotland. Does anyone remember the ladies choir of the 60s? Would like to know with fond memories.

Comment:  I came to Kenilworth with my family in June 2005 to visit an old college friend who married a fine fellow who is a professor at the University of Warwick. We stayed at her house in Upper Ladyes Hills and on Sunday morning I walked down the hill to St. Nicholas for the early service, since I'm a regular member of our parish here in Maryland. The people and the vicar were very friendly - he told me a bit of the history of the church and it was fascinating; the church has been around long before North America was even colonized - and if we lived in Kenilworth I know where I'd find a church home. I've begun bell ringing at the Washington National Cathedral and the next time we come to Kenilworth I hope to meet the band and maybe join in a bit. You have a fine web site and a very lively church community!

Comment:  My husband Mark and I attended St Nick's and were married there in March 2003 by Patrick Taylor. We now attend St Matthew's in Coates, nr Cirencester, and have become a family of four! (Lucy, 3 and Adam 11 months). Still have very fond memories of the Church/Kenilworth. Best wishes to Richard, and the congregation.

Comment:  Congratulations on reaching the halfway total for the Parish Hall Appeal! Of course, the second half will always be the hardest. Mum and I continue to pray for you all and will support all we can. Unfortunately the present access to the hall prohibits Mum from coming to the Christmas Fair, much to her regret. Keep up the good work, and thanks again for the warm welcome we received on 14/10. Fetched the latest magazine this afternoon, so, combined with my access to the website, we are now up to date with events at St Nicholas.

Love and prayers to all. Mary

Comment:  Hi there any one who knows me or my mother Vera Jaye.  Unfortunately Vera passed away last Saturday January 20th after 92 years most of which she attended St Nicholas both the School and the Church.  Please remember her as the life and soul of the party which she was and how she helped lots of people not just her family.  Although we left Kenilworth back in 1970 we still look regularly at this web site.  Love to all Rosemarie Tony and Family.

Comment:  My good friend Richard Moore who was baptized and married in your church led me to your church website.  Although many miles away, and a Catholic, on my next visit home to Cheltenham I would be honoured to attend your church for a sermon.  I love your site and am impressed by the effort you put forth, and your warmth as Christians.  God bless.

Comment:  My great grandparents George Thornton and Mary Jane Kimberley were married at St. Nicholas Church Christmas Day 1880. They lived on Albion Street in Kenilworth.  I believe my great-great grandparents Edward and Jane Kimberley are buried in the church yard.  My wife and I visited your beautiful church this past June with our friends from Coventry, Phil and Julie Parry.

Comment:  I was very pleased to find your excellent website accidentally.  St. Nicholas Church is of special interest as it was the place where my great great grandfather was christened in 1827.  This is only a recent discovery but will hopefully lead to more.  (James Sharpe was his name)

Comment:  What a lovely website. It's lovely to see the church thriving.

I was born and bred in Kenilworth, was baptised in St. Nicholas in 1962 and was a member of the choir from 1970 to 1978 when Frank Bull was Vicar and Trevor Wragg the organist and choir master.  I was also a server for a while.  I have a number of relatives laid to rest in the churchyard and will visit the church next time I am in the area.

It will always have a special place in my memories - many happy times were spent there singing in the choir.

If anyone remembers me I would love to hear from you - andreww3362@yahoo.co.uk
I wish the Rev. Awre and all the church members every success for the future.

Comment:  Hi Richard, family and Kenilworth.  Just a quick note to say hello.  We are here with Andrew & Anne Hicks, who have just pointed out to us that you have a web site.  What a wonderful website it is.  We shall hopefully try & make future use of it.  I think it is a super idea and that we here at Longridge St. Lawrence with St. Pauls should perhaps have one.  We have actually just come from our annual 'Civic Sunday' Service.  The new Mayor is Councillor Alan Smith.  Hope you and the parish are all well as you begin to head into the lead up to the summer holidays.  All our love & thoughts as always are with you.

Comment:  Recently our family returned to St Nicholas for worship. We were tremendously blessed to have been able to be with all of you. I must tell you that seeing everyone after a 5 year absence was thrilling. Speaking with Michael I told him this must be what heaven will be like..."seeing those that we have been apart from." How exciting to know that as Christians we are all brothers in Christ and part of His Family. Blessings to all of you.

Comment:  What an excellent website! It brought back happy memories.  I was married at St. Nicholas in 1966 and 2 of our 4 children were christened there.  I was a member of the youth group and helped with Junior Church.  My Mum, Rene Higgs made the Mothers' Union banner and the Sunday School banner, helped with the flowers and ran a choir and my Dad was a sidesman.  It was good to see (from Rosemary's entry in the visitor book) that Vera Jaye still attends St. Nicholas.  She was a good friend of my parents.  Best wishes to everyone.

Comment:  What a great website - I finally got round to having a look today! I found it very easy to navigate and it's full of really exciting and interesting stuff - a lot of which I didn't know! The content's also impressively up to date - and all the links work! It'll be a good way for me to keep in touch with church life back in Kenilworth.

I especially enjoyed reading the monthly letters from Richard and Patrick and about the Lima project, and of course looking at all the fantastic photos.

Comment:  We left Kenilworth 32 years ago but my mother Vera Jaye still lives there and attends St Nicholas regularly. We were married in St Nicholas and our son Nathan was Baptised there. We come up there as often as we can my husband more than myself as he travels round the country with his work. It will be nice to keep up with the news by this web site.  Although my mother keeps me informed when I ring her each week.
