There are a number of ways our community cares for each other.

Pastoral Visiting Team

The Pastoral visiting team is led by Alison Wiggins. A group of people regularly visit those who are house bound or recovering from illness. Visits vary according to the needs of the visited.

Tea & Friendship

Tea and Friendship is run by Jacquie Allsopp, Barbara Shepherd and Pamela Wilkes. At St Barnabas Church on Albion Street on the second Tuesday of the month, it is for those who are at home on their own and would like to get out to meet others. If you would like to know more please get in touch and we will make sure you are personally invited.

Home Communion Team

Our Home Communion Team visit people in the parish who cannot make a Sunday service. If you would like someone to minister communion with you, please get in touch with Rosie at the church office and she will arrange this for you. We look forward to hearing from you.

St Barnabas Shared Lunch

A social gathering for those who would otherwise be eating alone. Join us at St Barnabas Church from 12pm on the first Sunday of the month. There is always enough food for everyone.

Tea 4 all at St Barnabas

St Barnabas run “Tea 4 all” on the first Saturday afternoon of each month coordinated by Lesley O’Connor. Everyone helps to supply cakes and refreshments and it runs from 2.30 – 4.00pm. It’s open to all. Anybody can come along for a cup of tea and a friendly welcome  with delicious cakes!
