Become a friend and supporter of St
Nicholas
and St Barnabas Churches Kenilworth
|

A
message from the Vicar
Like many other 'Friends' organisations, the aim
is to support our churches in various ways, but mainly by providing
financial assistance for the upkeep of the fabric. As I'm sure you are
aware, keeping any building in good order can be costly. When the
buildings are of the age of St. Nicholas' and St. Barnabas', the cost is
considerable. We are fortunate that our predecessors have generally
maintained our churches to a high standard; our duty is to ensure that we
pass on a similar legacy to our successors. I do hope that you are
able to support our work by becoming a 'Friend'. Whatever your
contribution, you can be sure that it will be used to good effect to
maintain our ancient parish church in Abbey Fields, and its mission church
in Albion Street. |

Why become a friend? |
|
| |
? |
You may love the churches and the fact that, without them,
the normal rites of life - baptism, weddings and funerals - could not take
place. But you may hesitate to give a total commitment in terms of faith and commitment to God. |
|
| |
? |
You may have a
personal or family connection with our churches but are not able to attend
regularly because you live away from the area. |
|
| |
? |
You may already be an active member of our churches
- but
the friends organisation will concentrate on maintaining the fabric of our
buildings rather than its day-to-day running costs. |
|
| |
Whoever you are
and wherever you are from, by becoming a friend you can
express your support and make a tangible contribution to our churches. |
|

How do I become a Friend?
Anyone can become
a friend of St. Nicholas' and St. Barnabas' Churches for a minimum annual
membership of £10, or life membership of £200. If you are a UK
tax-payer, we can reclaim 25p on every pound donated, so that your minimum
annual membership would be worth £12.50 to our funds. You will receive
regular newsletters detailing the activities of the church, and giving
information about the projects that the friends are supporting. We
hope to arrange outings from time to time so that we can see how the
friends of our cathedrals and other great churches in the UK are
supporting their ministries. Please contact
us to request a Friends membership application form.
