The Lighting of the Easter Fire and the Renewal of Baptism Vows
Our Easter preparation comes to an end with the congregation
gathered outside the church in the darkness for the lighting of
the Easter Candle from a newly kindled fire. We then process the
candle into a darkened church. From its flame we all light
candles and then renew our baptism vows and join in prayers of
preparation for Easter. |
