"Reaching out for God with love and
encouragement"
Parish Cabaret 2008
We presented our third Parish Cabaret on Saturday 2nd
February 2008. The event was a sell out with the Parochial Hall filled
with a one hundred and thirty strong audience. The show comprised
sixteen acts and forty people of all ages from our congregations. The
evening was a great success and raised £600 in aid of the Parochial Hall
Restoration Appeal. The whole show was held together by our very own compere, Mark Draper. Act 1 included music, singing, dancing and
side-splitting comedy!
Act 2 was as equally entertaining
with more songs, dance and drama. There were laughs as Mark played
the front end of an elephant, having been promoted from the back end
after the previous cabaret!
Members of Fused took on a flight of
fancy in their 'Red Barrows' before the Reduced Pantomime Company made a
welcome return, this time with their version of 'Jack and the Beanstalk'
- alright!
The audience was treated to more
music, including jazz and the 'Ukulele Orchestra of Kenilworth' before
the grand finale which involved the whole cast singing Land of Hope and
Glory whilst everyone got to their feet to sing the chorus.
Thanks
to everyone who took part to
share their talents and to all those who worked hard behind the scenes
to make this such an enjoyable and successful eventRuth Cox
