Who’s Who?

The Reverend Stella Bailey
Vicar

Except for a time of study in Birmingham, Stella has lived in or around Coventry since she was 12.

Before ordination Stella was a Police Officer in Coventry, but eventually God got his way and she was ordained in 2009.  She served her Curacy at St Mary’s Walsgrave before becoming the Vicar at St Mary Magdalen in Coventry.  Stella became the Vicar at the Parish of St Nicholas with St Barnabas in October 2016.  She has a passion for social justice and encouraging others to be a transforming presence in their communities.  One of her favourite bible passages is Isaiah 61: v1: ‘The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners.’  For her sins she is an obsessive Aston Villa fan, relaxes by playing Call of Duty on the PlayStation and enjoys taking her 3 dogs out on walks.

In 2013 he was awarded the Bishop’s Certificate in “Discipleship” and in 2014 “Mission & Ministry”. He was Churchwarden from 2008 to 2013 and returned as acting Churchwarden in September 2014 until April 2015 when he was once again appointed Churchwarden in May 2015. His career in construction prepared him to project manage the maintenance and refurbishment of our church buildings. He and his wife Lynn love “live” theatre. Keith is also a keen Yoga and Pilates student!

Janet Cherry

Janet’s career began as a machine language computer programmer.  When their youngest son was 8 years old she became a part time teaching assistant in the Reception Class at Clinton Primary School – a job that she loved and continued for the next 26 years!

Janet and her husband Malcolm moved to Kenilworth when they married in 1970 and Janet has worshipped at St Nicholas since then. They have two sons and three grandchildren who are very important to them. Janet enjoys gardening, the countryside, designing and making things, walking in Switzerland and sewing, when she has the time!  Janet’s favourite way of praising is singing.

Margaret Bull

Margaret Bull
District Churchwarden
Margaret first came to Kenilworth as a child in 1958. She worshipped at St. Nicholas and on the odd occasion, St Austins. Having come from an Anglo Catholic background and educated at a Roman Catholic Convent she still leans towards the Anglo Catholic tradition. How come she has taken over as District Warden at St. Barnabas? God.
